It's a valid point, although I took it as a sign of how Gabe (is it Gabe or the other one? I can never remember) and a lot of other folks react to anyone daring to suggest changes to their precious continuity, not so much that he's right about it.
Well, I read that interview, and in Dunst's defense, she was humorously riffing on the question posed her by the interviewer who asked if MJ would die like she does in the comic. Huh? Now, I haven't read Spiderman in a while, but I remember Gwen Stacy dying, not MJ (in a scene they paid homage to in the first film). Perhaps our geek wrath should be directed at the sloppy interviewer.
BTW, she also said she wouldn't mind playing Sailor Moon in a movie. Kirstin Dunst in a short little sailor suit....
I'm under the impression that the Mike and Jerry aren't necessarily meant to be directly identified with Gabe and Tycho, even if they tend to re-enact the "perceived" dynamic between the two creators.
I understand that they use smacktalk in a jocular fashion, but I wish they could do it in a way that people would be able to identify exactly where their sentiments lie. It's all too easy for more impressionable individuals to think that reacting with "WHORE!" is exactly how they feel, rather than the satirical bent it's supposed to imply.

I could see that. Since day one of reading their comics, though, I've taken their exaggerated and largely psychotic way of reacting to people/things as entirely satirical. I guess you could say it's for more mature audiences. hm.
In that case, we should apply Sturgeon's Law and suggest that 90% of the entire 16-45 year old audience that Penny Arcade caters to, shouldn't be reading it at all. :D
