And so it begins

There is a hole in your mind

Um, Blogathon, that is.

You can sponsor my lovely wife, [livejournal.com profile] shadesong, (and give her writing prompts) in support of RAINN here!

Others participating in Blogathon include [livejournal.com profile] zarhooie (for The Heifer Project), [livejournal.com profile] slipjig (for the International Gay and Lesbian Human Rights Commission), [livejournal.com profile] boutell (for Doctors Without Borders), [livejournal.com profile] aurora_lamour (for the Lupus Foundation).

ETA: And [livejournal.com profile] shadowwolf13 is blogging for FirstBook.

If you have any combination of those folks on your FL, you'll have an unusual active friends list this weekend. All for some very good causes. Enjoy!

24 hours of Justice (League)!

Starting tomorrow at 6AM, Boomerang will be showing 24 hours of Justice League in a row.

Dude.

Other than network promos, these are commercial-free, too.

I know what I'll be doing while [livejournal.com profile] shadesong sleeps off Blogathon.

Tony Bourdain update

Tony writes about his experiences in Beirut over at Salon.

(Warning -- Salon requires you to either subscribe or watch an annoying flash-based advertisement to read their articles.)

They can't all be Bill Simmons or Jason Stark, I suppose.

"Although the right-hander's numbers, as does the sun, declined out West. . ."

Oh, dear god.

The same article (on the Wilson Betemit/Danys Baez trade) ends by mentioning that the Braves now have, "the best Baez this side of Joan." Um, yeah. I adore Joan Baez, but her fastball sucks.
