Faster than a questionable lawsuit!

Carmine Infantino is suing DC for the rights to The Flash.

I adore Carmine -- one of the best artists, ever. And I'm a big advocate of creator's rights in general. But this isn't going to fly. Unlike the two guys from Cleveland, this wasn't a character that Carmine brought to DC. It was A) an update of an existing character (the golden-age Flash, Jay Garrick); B) actually created (conceptually) by Julius Schwartz, as well as Bob Kanigher (the writer) and C) denied by Carmine in the past.

And, if he had a problem with the use of Barry in other media, why no lawsuit fourteen years ago, when we saw a good Flash TV series?

(since the article doesn't go into detail on the rest of the suit, other than mentioning Batgirl, I'm not sure about his other characters).

That said, if the result of this is a nice pension for Infantino, that wouldn't be a bad thing.
