Layer Cake

shadesong, photognome and I just saw Layer Cake, which kicked eight kinds of ass, with some solid plotwork, nifty dialogue, and great acting. And it featured a nearly naked Sienna Miller, always a bonus. Highly recommended for fans of good crime movies.

And those fuckheads at Fox (movie division, as opposed to the usual fuckheads at Fox I talk about, who spend their time messing up the TV schedule) dropped the ball with Vaughn and are now giving us Ratner for X3. Seeing this, the tragedy of that choice just magnifies. It's practically farce now.

Now been reported that Ratner's named the bisexual mutant ho he's adding to X3: Pherma

not only that, he's had tennis stars Serena and Venus Williams(he used to date one of em) try out for Pherma

I swear, I wonder if he's really playing everyone with some sort of weird documentary, and just filming reactions to his announcements.

Somebody asked me about him; his name had sounded familiar, but I needed to IMDb-dive to look for credits.

Sooo... apparently, he's one of those people who's becoming famous more for being famous, than for any kind of actual merit?

You mean Ratner? He did direct some very successful (and, to be fair, fun) movies. He's just way out of his league here.

hunh.

i saw that movie a while back, based on good reviews, and it did nothing for me. i mean, i recognized that it was a well-made and intense movie, but i wasn't engaged with the characters, or even interested in them as anti-heroes. so not-deep an impression this movie made on me, i don't even remember the scantily clothed hottie actress.

Well, my love for Keen Eddie makes it hard for me not to notice Sienna.

But I really did get into the characters (regardless of my love of one actress), and it definitely made a solid impression on me.
