R.I.P., the most important webtool I use after email

"From your 399 subscriptions, over the last 30 days you read 2,794 items, clicked 189 items, starred 1 items, and emailed 0 items.
Since August 15, 2008 you have read a total of 300,000+ items." From my Google Reader Trends.

In related news, as I said on Facebook, Fuck you, Google.

Google seems to be intent on getting rid of stuff that people actually use. A lot of my clients use iGoogle for their home page and none of them have sounded pleased when I pointed out that it is going away later this year.

I suspect that their choices are related to "doesn't make us any money" BUT I'm also pretty sure that most Google Reader users would happily pay and/or perform ritual sacrifices to continue using the service, so I DON'T understand why they didn't consider that option. The money-making option, I mean.

Agreed on iGoogle, too. :-(

I haven't even begun to think about what I am going to do.

Of all the things they could get rid of, this one makes the least sense ever.
