Friday randomness

t-minus fourteen hours until the upgrade starts. Best-case scenario: I'm able to use shadesong's computer to monitor it (my G4's airport is way too unreliable to maintain a connection), all goes smoothly, and I'm done by noon tomorrow. Worst case scenario: I have to go into the office, and things suck ass, and I'm there all weekend, and then the aliens come and blow up the earth, and there's no backup copy, and it turns out that not only is there really a hell, but my eternal roommate is Ann Coulter.

What? I'm good at envisioning worst-case scenarios.

In the meantime, today involves writing lots of documentation, followed by "staff-fest," when the University pretends that staff members are loved and important by feeding us bland chicken (they tried food with flavors once, but that didn't go over too well with people without palates).

Elsewhere, good news on the TV front: The WB is aware of the fact that they fucked over viewers everywhere with their handling of the season finale of Gilmore Girls, and is considering re-airing it.

Oh, and Topher Grace is going to play a villain in Spider-Man 3.

Gah. Exhaustion is overwhelming me. Stupid lack of sleep.

What villain would Topher Grace play? Spidey generally fights a bunch of old guys. Venom, maybe? Electro? Thomas Hayden Church will be The Sandman, I presume? Only villain who comes to mind, thinking of him.

See, that alone worries me -- do we want/need two villains diluting things?

If they went with the Venom/Carnage possibilities, Grace would be a natural for the human side of things. There's nothing saying that, say, The Vulture, has to be old, although even a young Vulture is a boring guy who flies. Maybe he'll take over the Jameson Jr role and become Man-Wolf.
