What the fuck?
May. 25th, 2005 11:02 amSo, I try to eat healthy on occasion. But reading the ingredient labels on my breakfast cereals was a little disturbing:
My all-time favorite cereal* is Quaker's Crunchy Corn Bran. It's high-fiber, mostly unsweetened, and incredibly yummy, either in milk or as a dry snack. But, for reasons that make no fucking sense to me, the good folks at Quaker have added fucking partially-hydrogenated soybean oil to it! Yes, they've taken a product known for its heart-healthy qualities, and added something with trans-fat.
But it get worse. I also like Kellogg's All Bran Buds. These things are basically the real-life version of Colon Blow. And they've go motherfucking high-fructose corn syrup in them!
I can live without the Bran Buds (no matter how healthy the 764 grams of fiber are). But I really really don't want to give up my Crunchy Corn Bran, dammit! *grumble*
*Seriously (not Cerealsly), I don't go for the sugary cereals, although I'll gladly eat them if they're around.
