TV: Watched Rome (awesome!), Medium (which, in the form of Arquette, Weber, and Sandoval, provides three great acting performances a week), and Prison Break (which is just loads of fun).

Work: Teaching a class today, taking an all-day class tomorrow, lots of meeting elsewhen.

Hockey: Elisha (24 and The Girl Next Door) Cuthbert has an official NHL blog. On the "unexpected" scale, that ranks right between a roof pig and the Spanish Inquisition.

Baseball: Last week, I linked to the ESPN Magazine article on steroids (which any baseball fan should read), and noted that Lenny Dykstra was one of the players very heavily implicated.

Well, Nails, in his "financial column" this week, writes* "I am forever seeking a competitive edge in order to maximize my chances for success. . . Discipline allowed me to develop into the consummate leadoff hitter. I saw more pitches than anybody in the history of Major League Baseball during the magical 1993 season with the National League champion Philadelphia Phillies. This was directly attributable to the fact that I approached each at-bat with a plan. That plan had to be flexible in order to respond to the situation dictated by the scoreboard."

No, no mention of the massive injections he was receiving that year.

Which only goes to show that we were all wrong about steroids and their effect on testes. Because it most definitely took balls to write what Nails did.

*And by "writes," I mean, "has the following ghost-written by someone else," of course.
