1. [livejournal.com profile] shadesong and I had a nice surprise lunch with [livejournal.com profile] jet_li_wannabe yesterday. Yay!

2. Elayna is in the office with me, happily playing NeoPets.

3. I got an email this morning saying that my paid LJ account would expire in three days. Glad they gave me such advance fucking notice (and yeah, I know, I could look at my own userinfo page to see when I'll expire, but who does that?).

4. The Yankees signed Johnny Damon. At some point, Larry Lucchino is going to be either fired or lynched for running Epstein out of town, if only because of how this off-season has gone for the Sox.

5. The Ghost Rider website is up, with a teaser trailer. They actually got the look down pretty well. Then again, GR always looked cool -- the issue has been how often the comic has just sucked. But hey, with a quality actor like Nick Cage as the lead, what could go wrong?

6. Finally, Brad Meltzer is returning to comics, this time re-launching the JLA in June. Excellent.

I've got the torches, tar, and feathers... my goal for the day is to locate pitchforks and rope.

Johnny isn't the loss most think it will be. His overall performance was declining last year, though most people didn't notice due to the gaudy batting average. This will definitely hurt for a year...maybe two. However, Johnny's last year or two on the contract are unlikely to anything but make people pine for the last few years of Bernie Williams' bad contract. :)

I'll reserve judgement on the performance of Sox management until Spring Training. There is still a lot of shuffling to go.

I expect Ghost Rider to continue to look good. I don't know if good looks will be enough to convince me to see a movie where the acting is likely to be so stunning, though. (That is stunning as in clubbing a baby seal, not awe inspiring... :) )

NeoPets, eh? My kidlet exhausted that fad for himself around a year ago. He lost interest when he didn't play for one extended stretch and all his NeoPets starved, I think. These days it is KoL, AdventureQuest and demos of RPGs and RTS games that he finds online. I'm so proud to be the father of a gamer. :)

I just check the color of the crystal in my palm every morning. It's easy enough to remember, as I put on hand lotion anyway.

You have the greatest Sox icon EVER!! (That's one of my favourite songs.)

How can he go to the Yankees? Any team but them. Traitor! Speak not to me again of this "Johnny Damon."

Oh, and I've got rope.

Probably old news to you, but Slice of SciFi is reporting that the Ghost Rider movie has been pushed back to 2007 (http://www.sliceofscifi.com/archives/ghost_rider_wheels_into_2007.html) to make room in the summer 2006 release schedule for The Da Vinci Code. (http://www.sliceofscifi.com)

Ghost Rider has been push back to 2007, so something must be wrong.

On your advice I picked up X-factor. Yah, it rocked. Really reminded me of the old days. I may have to go pick up Madrox's mini series.

In related news Nomar got traded to the Dodgers. My prediction: the Cubs will win the World Series and continue the Nomar curse.

Yes, the ending was good, as was all the internal monologue leading up to it.

I'll go by my local tomorrow and see if I can find either the mini or TPB.
