On postiness and books

yendiThe reason I'm around LJ posting, reading, and commenting today? I've basically been stuck by the computer, waiting to test a server upgrade (and then re-test on finding issues) since about midday. We've been having various dns and other issues just to complicate things. Joy.
This does mean that I've gotten some reading done. I finished The Book of Fate (still disappointing, but still a fun read), then read the ARC of Francesca Lia Block's Psyche in a Dress, a quite nifty poem sequence interweaving various Greek myths and the story of a woman's quest for love. I'm now reading Hammett's The Continental Op, collecting a handful of stories about Hammett's best protagonist (not to take anything away from Spade or Nick and Nora Charles).
