Spent most of the day reading Robert Sawyer's Flashforward I quite enjoyed it. Not perfect, but a fun read, and a good way to spend a lazy Sunday afternoon. It felt much like a Robert Charles Wilson novel in structure (if not writing style), and, much as I claim to hate time travel in general, I liked the concepts explored here.

I haven't read any of his other stuff, so I've got no idea if this is par for the course or not. But I'll definitely be checking out some of his other books.

I like Robert Sawyer's stuff quite a bit. I think I'm all caught up now, though, which made me sad.

The Neanderthal books - I think it's a trilogy - were some fantastic stuff.

Sawyer is one of my favorite authors. He writes very compelling science fiction that is also quite accessible to the average person. For a good trilogy that isn't as heavy on the quantum physics as his other books, check out the Neanderthal Parallax. I also enjoyed Calculating God and Factoring Humanity (although they get deep in quantum physics).

I've read and enjoyed most of Sawyer's books: haven't yet read Mindscan or Flashforward, and made the mistake of lending my copy Calculating God to a friend before I'd read it (grr). The Quintaglio trilogy (Far-Seer, Fossil Hunter and Foreigner) is particularly good fun, but IMHO his best is Frameshift.

Well, I've only read one Sawyer myself, and it was utter crap, iirc. But I seem to be in the minority on that, so take it with a grain of salt.
