The full version of the latest Gap commercial.

On the one hand, I'm not a fan of dead celebrity footage being used for commercials (remember Fred Astaire dancing with a vacuum cleaner?). On the other, Gap did pay a shitload of money to Hepburn's charity. And on the third, Hepburn and AC/DC are two of my favorite things, and I never thought I'd get to see something that combined them.

I hate it with a passion. It's so un-Audrey it hurts.

I am now creeped out by Audrey Hepburn. Thanks. I also now hate Gap for using AC/DC.

Yeah. I saw that last night during House. My jaw dropped.

I still want to steal one of the window stickies or one of the cardboard cutouts that the GAP has in the stores.

I think the commercial is cute (really, I'd watch Audrey read a phone book and think it's wonderful), but I think I'm pissed at family/estate for allowing it. The charity part is good, but it just wasn't like Audrey to do something like that.

Plus, they used Jo. Selling stuff for the GAP is so anti-Jo it doesn't sit right with me. It would be like Neo from the Matrix doing a commercial for Radio Shack.

I thought it was really well done, and while the end (actual commercial message) was annoying, the rest of it was cool, and maybe will get the younger generation interested in Audrey Hepburn again. And besides, I don't think she cares anymore about what people do with her image, except that she might be happy that she's still helping people, raising money for a good cause.

Yeah, I don't really like it either, for the same reasons you mentioned. I mean, it's creative, but it doesn't feel right. Plus, the song doesn't match well with her dancing, IMO.

I like when two things that totally don't go together are matched up. And really what could be less alike then ac/dc and Audrey Hepburn. If this had been a homebrew mashup I would cheer. But I really really hate when songs I love become commericals. And back in black is one of my favorite songs.

The way I figure it, there are two kinds of dead celebrity footage use. The really, really bad kind and the really, really good kind. There seems to be no middle ground. I put the Audrey commercial in the good category, along with the Duke's beer commercial.
