Friday Amazon Deals
Jan. 5th, 2007 09:01 am(Believe me, no one's going to want to buy the movie I'm reviewing later today, so maybe something here will strike someone's fancy)
Amazon's got a handful of decent deals:
For those who have made the usual "get in shape" resolutions, you can get Crunch -- Super SlimDown: Pilates Yoga Blend for $7.47 (50% off).
Or, if you'd prefer, there's the massive sale on various Carmen Electra's Aerobic Striptease DVDs (40+% off on most of them). Which might or might offer a better workout, but will likely make for interesting viewing.
(Of course, I'm amused that Carmen is now working as a pitchwoman for Taco Bell, which doesn't exactly offer anything, y'know, remotely healthy).
And for the guys (meaning for the guys who want to work out, as I suspect that most of the Carmen DVDs are also bought by guys), there's LL Cool J's Platinum workout, a new book from the publishers of Men's Health (seriously).
Other deals in DVDs:
Goodfellas (two-disc edition) for $9.99 (63% off).
And fans of Daft Punk can pick up Daft Punk -- Interstella 5555 for $9.99 (50% off) and D.A.F.T. for $10.97 (45% off).
Finally, Swiss Army sales include the 512MB Multi-Tool (a knife with a USB Drive) for $64.99 (51% off), the 1GB Swissmemory (bigger drive and an LED) for $67.99 (42% off), and the Voyager (no drive, but way more tools, including a clock) going for $44.99 (49% off).

Date: 2007-01-05 02:28 pm (UTC)I guess it's like a circle of life: Eat Taco Bell, get fat, buy the N-V products, then burn extra fat by performing aerobic stripteases. Then buy another gordita.

Date: 2007-01-05 02:47 pm (UTC)Could I get a cite on that? I'm not ready to assume their food is unhealthful just because it's a fast-food chain.

Date: 2007-01-06 02:34 am (UTC)To be fair, they now have a "Fresco" option that basically removes the cheese and sauce from a few choices.
But even the healthier things end up at 25% or so of the DV for sodium (and, of course, that's assuming someone buys, say, just one Fresco gordita and nothing else).
