Quick note, post-Arisia
Jan. 15th, 2007 09:26 pmI am both introverted and shy. I'm also dealing with a particularly stressful time of the year, work-wise. This means that cons, although wonderful in many ways, are often a wee bit overwhelming for me, and my ability to deal with humans is often pushed to its limits. So if I met you (or ran into you again) and I did not seem talkative, it was not because I found you uninteresting or annoying, and it was not because I'm an arrogant asshole (which isn't to say I'm not an asshole, but I promise you that arrogance is quite likely the least of my sins).
Related: I also am one of the world's worst people at remembering names and faces. I tend to remember people based on clothing (good for very short periods of time) and hair (good for slightly longer periods) unless they're incredibly distinctive (like having a weasel with a mullet permanently embedded in their cheek), or I know them really well and/or see them often enough to remember more details. So if you think I was ignoring you at Arisia, or if I seemed to blank on you until I stared at your badge, that's why.
