1. Elayna's birthday party was this weekend. The party itself was a mythology-based one that all the girls enjoyed a lot. This was followed by Elayna's sleepover for her club (yes, kids still do things like that). Which meant six just-barely-preteens in the house. Creative ones. So instead of quietly watching DVDs and gossiping until they conked out, there was skit-writing, filmmaking, and storytelling. They claim to have slept at some point, but all I know is that they were awake when 'song and I finally drifted off, and awake when we woke up.

2. Elayna loved all of her presents, but the one that was certainly the focus of the weekend is the Wii. My right arm still hurts from playing Wii Sports on Saturday. But damn, it's fun.

3. Friday night saw a dinner at Bertucci's which turned out to be much, much better than we'd expected. We'd originally planned on hitting the North End, but between parking (or lack thereof), time, and the fact that we had eight people and no reservation, we decided that the Newton branch of the chain was good enough. Turned out to be a great family meal, with a damned good antipasto platter followed by some very nice pastas (mmm, lobster ravioli) and pizzas. Also some very good service.
