And it does have nice John Barry musical lushness, too... Even sub-par John Barry Bond music is better than most of the other composers' Bond work (though I do like David Arnold's work on the current Bonds).
I'm fond of the changeover Jaws makes in the last minutes of the movie...what a great character. :)
My favorite line, when Drax is on the phone, and he says "Oh, well, if you can get HIM!" talking about Jaws...its priceless, I think everyone knows exactly who he's talking about before you even see him. ;)
I could seriously imagine Diamond at least covering "Thunderball." (Is something wrong with my imagination? Where is my mind? (Oh my God, Diamond doing the Pixies would cause brain explosions...))
Is there a link to find out what the Deal of the Day is each day, or is it something you just have to come across?
This is the second one of these that you've pointed me to that have been fantastic, though -- first was Arrested Development, now Bond!
Now I'm waiting with baited breath for the Star Trek: TNG Deal of the Day (it's more likely to be a Deal of the Day than it is for Paramount to show some actual sense and lower the damn prices).
The Gold Box icon at the top of your Amazon page. It will also provide you with ten daily deals (which are personalized, so I don't bother linking to mine), each of which will be an extra 5% off the regular Amazon price (but you're only allowed to buy one per day from that list of ten).
The sign-up's pretty basic (and the LJ site is fine), but remember that you can't get credit for your own purchases, and if you do so accidentally, you'll see it subtracted from your totals at the end of the month.
See, the conversion of Jaws from evil to good is one of the things that really annoyed me. It's not like he was a big lovable teddy bear in TSWLM who was just caught up in the wrong crowd. He was an evil, sadistic fucker. And I don't buy him switching sides.
I'll buy from you if you buy from me ;) (Oh, like I wouldn't buy and haven't bought from you anyway. Hm. Is this the 30-something consumerist version of "show me yours I'll show you mine?")
Paul picked up today's deal directly from the site, so Amazon gets the extra $5. Darn!
Well, Poop..

Thanks!

Any higher, Mr. Bond, and my ears will pop.
Date: 2007-03-13 05:43 pm (UTC)I was the right age to enjoy 'Moonraker' in a theater. But the same holds true for '1941.'
At the very least, one can watch that cool pre-credits sky-diving sequence over and over.
