Pete Rose admits to gambling on every Reds game he managed.

His arguments that betting on each one meant that he wouldn't be likely to throw them are, naturally, completely fucking believable. Really. He's just a man of integrity.

I want to see a third player get to 4000 hits just to see if there's a correlation between getting that many hits and being an asshole.

It's the star athlete syndrome. It's not the hits that make them assholes, but the fact they are entirely dedicated to themselves that allows them to get to the hits.
