So Google Reader is now dead. I admit, I kept waiting for some sort of "just kidding" post, or even an "oops" one, but alas, no such thing arrived. Instead, just a douchey message reminding us that Reader data is going away about ten times quicker than even, say, Google Buzz data did.
I won't bother reiterating why Google sucks for doing this, as about 50% of the content written for the web in the last few months appears to be dedicated to the topic.
I will say that I'm kind of stunned that my favorite of the 90 or so readers I imported my data into so far is AOL Reader, not least because I can't recall AOL doing anything new in ages. But it's simple, has a layout that's largely like the old Google Reader one, and has required fewer changes in my reading style than any of the other choices. That said, I'm still waiting to see all the changes are likely still coming in the various choices out there.
