1. Yes, we'll be at Hogwarts Square tonight. Not sure if we'll make it to midnight (we don't have a reserved copy of the book anywhere, so it's not vital; plus, I hate people).

2. Still one of my all-time favorite fake commercials. Frighteningly, I think there are less healthy cereals on the market today.

4. I am amused by the fact that everyone sends bacon links my way. And yes, I appreciate all of 'em.

5. Today's Home on the Strange contains a spoiler-free summary of why the book will suck and will also be amazing.

6. Yesterday's Mets/Dodgers game was about as ugly as it gets. Starters Glavine and Lowe, between them, gave up fourteen earned runs in five innings, allowing twenty hits and four walks. But I'll take an ugly win over a pretty loss any day of the week.

7. Ew. Ew. Ew. Ew. Ick. (Completely worksafe, just describes something that completely squicks me out).

8. If, like me, you completely failed to notice Burn Notice when it first came on, but now wish you had because it's got Bruce Campbell in it, there's a marathon of the epiosdes to date this Saturday.

9. Also this weekend: the double-length series finale of Harvey Birdman, Attorney at Law. *sob*

10. Finally, yet another reason to love Japan: Gundam Condoms!

We'd been anxiously awaiting it to start...then religiously tivo'd it...then failed to watch it *laugh*...there has been, like, NO tv watching in our house (well, not for me, anyway) until the day before yesterday. So I'm finally catching up on Stargate, and will finally watch those recorded episodes of Burn Notice...and (just watched) Eureka!!! and and and...

Burn is a great show. I was sad to see the the Donovan's previous show, Touching Evil had flamed out and not fulfilled it's promise. So, I'm glad he's gotten another shot.

Bruce doesn't have quite enough to do tho', so I'm hoping he gets his own story line.

Anwar on the other hand is a very pleasant surpise as I'd always considered he a bit bland as an actress. Her Fiona is great.

I'm loving Burn Notice.

As for botflies -- I'm a very strong-stomached person. Extremely so. 13 years ago I had a pet turtle I had to personally treat for botfly infestation (over the course of at least a week, although it felt so interminable I'm really not certain). I still get queasy thinking about it. And they don't tell you about the smell.
