So a director, a coach, and a talk show host walk up to the pearly gates. . .

Wow.

I'm assuming that everyone is familiar with Bergman, at least (we're talking cinema literacy 101 here).

Robinson was the hitting coach for the Mets in the mid-'80s, notably for the '86 team.

As for Snyder, I missed the original Tomorrow Show, but caught the SNL parodies, and later caught his own mid-'90s Late Late Show.

I am old enough to remember Snyder's interview with Harlan Ellison. I stayed up very late to watch Snyder as a teenager. :)

Eek! The Tomorrow Show with Ellison and Star Trek cast members -- Kelley, Koenig, Doohan -- is on You Tube. It's too weird to see all the smoking.

Two of my favorite TV moments belong to Tom Snyder. The first was when he was talking to a reporter and said "Let's ask the audience" then turned the camera around to reveal there was no audience just the producer, sound guy, and camera guy. All of the laughs were his own and it was so beautifully raw but honest. The second moment was when he was telling a story of being stuck in an airport after an international assignment with a little under an ounce of "green herbs" with no choice but to either smoke it or throw it away in the trash. The story ended with him and another guy so stoned they almost missed their flight because they were walking so slowly to the terminal.

I can't even voice my disappointment on Ingmar.

Make that two coaches...
