For sale: The Wilds, Richard Laymon
Sep. 18th, 2007 07:59 pmAs some of you might know, our oldest cat Max has needed some veterinary attention (and might continue to need some). Shockingly, vets don't work for free, so we'll be putting some books on eBay to try to raise a few bucks. Most of those will go up later this week.
That said, I'd rather not give away any more money than I have to, so I figure that I'll post the more collectable ones here first before heading over to eBay, starting with this one.
The Wilds was the first in Cemetery Dance's series of limited-edition novellas. This hardcover copy is #60 out of 450 signed and numbered copies, and is in near-perfect shape (usual disclaimer -- I am not a book dealer, and couldn't grade a book if my life depended on it).
The most recent eBay auction I can find for it is this one from last month, with the book selling for $256. I've seen copies on Amazon and ABE for well over $200, but none seem to be floating around right now. I'm asking $175 for my copy, with $10 shipping (the $8.95 flat rate Priority Mail box plus the first $1.05 of insurance -- I'll eat the remaining $1.40) in the US, or exact shipping costs elsewhere (and no shipping charge if you're local to us and pick it up). Paypal is acceptable, money orders or cash (the latter if and only if you're local!) would be even nicer.
I'll keep the book off the auction sites until this Friday, so feel free to spread the word if you know anyone who collects Laymon works.
