When you promised that Heroes would immerse Matt in storylines that are both more central to the show and well-written, I hadn't realized that the cost would be every other storyline sucking. I like Matt, and like the way his arc is going. But could you actually write Claire and HRG not to suck? Also, last week's entire Silar plotline was made of suck. Suck and piss-poor writing. And don't get me started on Maya and Alejandro.

On the plus side, thank you for killing Nathan's beard, which had rapidly become the most annoying character on the show. Also, thank you in advance for bringing us Kristen Bell next week.

Love,

Nathan's Beard was offputting.

I just want to throttle Claire for lying about little stuff when HRG sees all.

While I fell in love with Heroes last season, I always found Matt's storyline annoying, as well as Niki/Jessica's. And, for goodness sake, I must agree that Claire should stop lying. It's the same pattern as last season. Character growth please?

Also not loving all the new characters and their attendant plotlines. I'm hoping they merge again like last season, which always reminded me of Cat's Orphan's Tales somehow.

Still, I fear I must blame part of my Heroes love on you and my other coworkers-- you, sir, are evil! (But in a good way.)

P.S. Do you think they will somehow work every cast member of Star Trek in? I'm trying to imagine what they would do with William Shatner...

The plot stuff from last week, if nothing else -- in the UK we're only officially somewhere in the middle of S1, and even with t*rrenting it I'm only on S2E2 (because hubby's away during the week and we only had time to watch two episodes this weekend)

I think turn about is fair play

They should cast Leonard Nimoy as OLD Sylar in a far future episode.

Bless you.

It's just not carrying the same bite (yet?).

The Sylar/Candice plotline was okay last week, but obviated this week. The only thing I got from it is that Missy Peregrym opted not to come back this season.

The Claire/HRG storyline isn't bothering me so much as that the relationship has always seemed to be love built on a game of Chess.

Maya/Alejando's story is just boring the hell out of me. Maybe putting them in a car with that Grey guy will up that ante.

I liked the beard... I liked the reasons behind it... but then again.. I am bearded and his motivations made sense.

Hoping against the sophomore slump, still.

Sylar last week pissed me off, too - he's got too much great character potential to be reduced to "Argh, I am evil! See my evil!" A little better this week. I'm voting for him to kill Maya and Alejandro and make them go away. Claire/HRG don't bother me as much as Claire/stupid stalker obviously a spy boyfriend. He's like the worst spy ever combined with the stereotypical date rapist. Hate hate hate him.

Love it! Somehow, I have dreams of seeing Shatner show up with Hiro and Kensei.

I'm caught up, but if I wasn't the "Silar/Candice" line would be definitely spoilery.

last week's episode was lame but I was really digging this week, sounds like you saw them together and the malaise from one seeped over to the other

this one was much crisper, plot twistier and satisfying

the claire regression is kind of annoying but it's not utterly unrealistic and I really like the NOLA storyline

I was beginning to wonder if the writers of "Lost"
had gotten hold of the show.

It's unfortunately going the way of the "nighttime soap opera format" -- too many plotlines, too many characters, so you have to alternate weeks to get them in...
The thing is, with soap operas, it's okay to do that because it's 5 days a week, so if you didn't get your favorite character today, you'll get him/her tomorrow... but every other week is a bit too much.

Unfortunately, they needed it to spin off like CSI did... like "Heroes NYC" and "Heroes California" ;) or they needed to keep to their original intention to completely wipe the 1st season's cast and start new storylines - the problem is, the audience fell in love with certain characters, so they couldn't just delete them.

I'm afraid unless there's a major intervention, this series won't get past 3 seasons - if it even makes it past 2 :(

Really? I thought the Sylar/Candace storyline--well, the ending, anyhow--sucked like a Hoover. It was stupid, sloppy writing IMO.

Did everyone just conveniently forget to mention to Candace that Sylar is a sociopathic killer and would gladly murder her for her powers? Why else would she a) show off and b) let him get close enough (while not tied down) to attack her?

And was Candace taking care of Sylar all by herself? 24/7 for weeks on end? No nurses, no doctors, no guards? (Nothing like a shabby little shack in the middle of the fetid Mexican rainforest to ensure that post-op infection couldn't possibly be a threat....)

I was holding out hope that Sylar's "escape" was just another illusion--that neither Candace, her employers, nor the writers, were that stupid. But this week proved me wrong.

My only hope now is that Sylar will put the Wonder Twins out of my misery and make a quick stop in California to eat West's brain before moving on to NYC.

On the other hand, I'm enjoying Matt, Nathan, Mohinder, et al.

This from Tw/oP Weecap:
~~~~~~~~
"Monica, may not need Micah's help, as she discovers her own power: she can do anything she sees somebody do on TV. Think she watches this show?"
~~~~~~~~

You know, most of the other powers make some sort of sense.
But how do your genes program (sorry for the pun) a power like this?
Depending on *television*! for your "power"?
If it was "anything she saw someone do irl" ok, fine...

Micah can probably load up an iPod with free mp3s but that's because
he can control electronics, etc, a form of energy that he can fine tune
to his own use.

I was probeard too, I think we need a survey of beard appreciation sorted by beardedness

I also think someone needs to create a seperate entry on heroeswiki for it

I'm not yet convinced that it wasn't yet another illusion. I think it could still be a possibility.
