I finally got my new work laptop yesterday (and am spending today setting it up). Since it's running Leopard, and since the folks at Firefox couldn't be arsed to make Firefox in Leopard work with Ajax apps or even some javascript, I'm kicking it to the curb. OmniWeb will be my primary browser for now, with Safari as my alternate.

I'll still be on Firefox today, as I probably won't have the new baby configured the way I need it until tonight.

I am so jealous of your new work laptop. Someday it will be mine!

Well, not yours. But one like it. Don't mind the snipers.

With respect, Firefox isn't the only 3rd party app with problems on Leopard, even Adobe has issues (http://blog.wired.com/monkeybites/2007/09/adobe-cs3-not-r.html). It seems that no one got a copy of Leopard in it's final form before Apple starting shipping...

A. Apple upgrades tend to break things for little good reason whatsoever.

B. Apple does not send (or post to ADC (http://connect.apple.com/)) the developers the final gold-master version of the OS until after its public release. Which is all the more galling given that they will ship it early to friendly reviewers (http://daringfireball.net/linked/2007/october#thu-25-pogue). This is a common gripe from the developer community. (http://www.computerworld.com/action/article.do?command=viewArticleBasic&articleId=9045933&pageNumber=1)

I'll be honest. I haven't even upgraded to Leopard yet. And as much as I seriously love Firefox and all its extensions and stuff - that memory leak thing is driving me up a wall, and I don't really NEED all those extensions. I'm trying OmniWeb now, and I think I actually like it better. Plus, I will upgrade soon, and if Firefox is broken like that? I'll probably stick with Omni, even though it costs money, and I don't like to spend money. I tried Opera and I just never could get into it.
