Enh. He pointed out some of the problems, but "explains" is too strong a term when he claims, effectively, that the choices just weren't liberal enough.
The real problem, of course, is giving a set of choices on any issue that correctly map to the spectrum of opinion of American voters, and then matching that spectrum to the limited set of positions espoused by the candidates.
None of those "what kind of yada yada are you" quizzes are meant to be taken seriously, and I don't think any of us do. We just take them for amusement.
I've taken a ton of the political candidate meme quizzes out of curiousity - just happened to post the results of this one. It has no bearing whatsoever on how I'm actually going to vote, but the results do make for interesting discussion.
