Jan. 17th, 2008 09:25 amToday's hectic, both with work stuff, and with day-before-Arisia stuff.
1. There's a new Tracy Ullman show coming this March! On Showtime (because it's the new HBO). Paired with the new season of The Tudors! Man, that'll be a fun night.
2. Phil Hughes has a blog! I can only assume that the blog would be thrown in as a sweetener in any deal for Santana. Years from now, it might be the next 38 Pitches.
3. The ongoing legal battles between Gawker and the Cult of Scientology are as fascinating as the Tom Cruise video at the center of it all.
4. Rumor of the day: Tarantino is remaking Faster Pussycat! Kill! Kill!
5.East Hastings Rent will close on Broadway this June. I don't have the love for it that Shadesong does, but it certainly deserved better than the treatment Chris Columbus gave it on the big screen. Vulture pays a nice tribute to it.
6. Another online game addiction that I've meant to post is Spectrum of Souls. And if anyone happens to have a good walkthrough for the Green level "X Marks the Spot," I'd appreciate it.
7. The Justice League movie is on hold. I'm not sure that's a bad thing, honestly.
8. Two new Amazon DVD sales: Indie and Art House DVDs (including up to 55% on The Awful Truth, Class of 1984, Spun, SLC Punk, Big Night, Behind the Mask, and others), and the Foreign and International sale includes up to 55% off on a ton of movies (notable ones are Ong-Bak, Exiled, the 1972 War and Peace, La Cage Aux Folles, Babette's Feast, Run Lola Run, The Stendhal Syndrome, Night Watch, the Mario Bava collections (both of them!), The Devil's Backbone, and the wonderfully-named Vacuuming Completely Nude in Paradise). Note that both sales have some ringers thrown in -- great movies like The Host that are, alas, only at 5-15% off.
9. Argento is releasing a film called Giallo. That'll be a stretch. Better yet, it'll star Vincent Gallo. Maybe they can cast Jennifer Lopez and give us Gallo attacking J-Lo in the Giallo film Giallo.
10. Picasa is finally coming out for the Mac! Allegedly.
11. FInally, for the daily Yendiopolis update, we're basicallylooking for immigrants, as employment and crime are fine, and transportation's at 99%. I'm sure that an influx of new folks will lead to more problems, though, as the wheel keeps turning. ETA: And turn it has, as we're now looking for transportation and industry.
