So, two days ago, after I posted about The Magic Garden of George B. and Other Logic Puzzles, I figured it couldn't hurt to put in an ILL request.
Alas, I got this response: So sorry to report that only one library that participates in ILL owns this, but they were not willing to lend.
*sigh*
A librarian co-worker did caution me that books from the last six months are rarely ILL-eligible. But still, I'm annoyed.

Date: 2008-04-18 04:22 pm (UTC)On the other hand, we probably wouldn't lend our new books through ILL for a while either, the reasoning being that folks who pay taxes in our town get first dibs.
That said, if it's a book that's been sitting on the new releases shelf for a while untouched, I figure, why not send it along to someone who actually wants it, instead of letting it sit there waiting for some random browsing patron to decide it looks interesting.

Edited to add that I should have known about the topic from the title. In my defense my mind jumped to "New Book!" and didn't care about much else.
