Lethal Weapon 5.

*sigh*

In fairness, Shane Black can write damned fine scripts. But after watching Harrison Ford haul his sorry ass into a nuclear-powered flying fridge, I'm not sure I need to see Riggs and Murtaugh again, even if they are given decent dialogue and an actual plotline.

That said, if they do go ahead, they'd damned well better keep Gough and Miller away from the screenplay. And don't allow Chris Rock or Joe Pesci anywhere near the set.

Oh, I don't know. I thoroughly enjoyed Indy 4. Do you not remember how cheesy the originals were? The nuclear fridge was about par for the course, I thought.

I'll probably see LW5 in the theatres as well when it comes out, and be completely happy.

I agree. The LW franchise is not about fantastic plots or hella good special effects...its about he character chemistry and the laughter and the fun and the car chases and the explosions. And I love every minute of it, in all four flicks. I'm up for the 5th.

Oh, come on, "Whatever you want, Leo GETS!" is a line that will go down in cinematic history!

I find that I can't watch anything with Mel Gibson in it any more - he's become one of those actors who can't be separated from his own hijinks. I would find myself wondering how much of the on-screen crazy is acting and how much is just...Mel.

You know what happens when they continue old movie series? Ok, ok, ok. I'll tell you. They fuck you in the movie theater. They fuck you in the movie theater. You go in there to see a new movie, ok? And it's not. It's the same damn thing they put out before. Except for all the good qualities. They leave those out. Ok, ok, ok. You know why? Because they know you're going to go see it anyway. They fuck you at the movie theater.

Unless they go direct to video, and then they fuck you at the video store.

Ahem. Sorry, had to be said. And I'll probably see it when it comes out on DVD. Maybe.

Ah well. I laughed at the fridge, which I think you were supposed to, and I actually really liked Shia LaBeouf (sp?) as Indy's son. But then, I am well known for not only tolerating but actively liking cheese.

That'd be a riff on the Leo Getz (Joe Pesci) line about drive-throughs in Lethal Weapon 2 (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0097733/quotes) (about half way down the page), and his line about hospitals in Lethal Weapon 3 (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0104714/quotes) and on cell phones in Lethal Weapon 4 (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0122151/quotes). On that last, he's joined by Lee Butters (Chris Rock), although I didn't see his part on the quotes page. Might have missed it. =)

Right, right. I knew it had to be from one of the LW movies, and I could even hear Joe Pesci's voice I just couldn't remember the exact scene.

Thanks :)
