Faking it, part 1: Food

Apropos of that, check out my friend's food photography blog. I'm pretty certain she and her husband are using real food, because he cooks their dinners and she photographs them. She's got some nice shots, and usually it's all about lighting. http://fotocuisine.com/

One of my mum's friends worked as a "Food Stylist" for years. Some of the stuff she told me was absolutely terrifying. Including the glaze on Hostess fruit pies being corrosive to human skin in its undiluted form. But most food would spoil or go off under studio lights, so it makes sense they'd have to use everything BUT ice-cream, milk, etc.

Looking at the comparison site I've decided some of the weirdest food products are put into cans. Seriously there's a can of 3 kabobs with sauce, why??
