Amazon adds a universal wish list!
Aug. 29th, 2008 02:29 pmOne problem I've long had with the assorted "universal wish list" sites that offer to aggregate multiple shopping site lists into one is that no one really checks them. Oh, sure, if you know the person well enough, you might remember that link at the top of their blog, but how often does that happen? So for the most part, I'll only put something on my wish list if it's available at Amazon, partially because 90% of the stuff I'd want to wish list is listed there, and partially because I know that my mom, co-workers, etc are more likely to check there than anywhere else.
Amazon, realizing this, has finally added a "universal wish list" option.
I just tested it, adding a t-shirt from gameink.com, and it worked like a charm.
Woohoo!
(Note: The obvious drawback here is that Amazon, for good privacy reasons, won't pass your info along to the other vendor, so online friends will need to know your address to send you items from these stores. Not a big deal for me, but could be an issue for some.)
