Shockingly, Jerry Seinfeld has been dropped from Microsoft's new ad campaign.

The best part is where Microsoft claims this was the plan all along. Just like Vista was meant to suck to make people love XP more.

And those new Windows 'Mohave' ads, where they basically say "No, no, you actually love Vista! You just didn't know it!"

I guess he and Bill didn't really get along.

This is highly amusing - on the way to work today, I was listening to 'This Week in Tech', where they were thinking over these ads and wondering if it was meant to draw in the geeks and trendleaders, with the hope that everyone else would follow. I guess Microsoft decided no one was going to follow the Bill & Jerry show.

Sorry, man: Anna Faris dropped out of the Linda Lovelace biopic.

To try and feel better, you may go over to the lower left side of this webpage and vote on the collective term for a group of zombies. (A stagger of zombies? A lurch?) Yep, Rick Emerson talks about stuff like this.

First, meh. Second: more meh.

I never liked Seinfeld. I don't appreciate the humor in "let's point out the pointlessness of everything we do" or whatever the hell it was he did on his show. I don't think I liked any of the characters, I watched only a few episodes, and I didn't bother watching more to really "get into it" like I did with the Simpsons. (My original opinion: really immature stupid humor; I changed my opinion when the art got better and I watched one of the Halloween specials.)

Second: They didn't show, and still don't show in their new "I'm a PC!" ad, why a PC is a good computer. I'm sorry, but celebrity endorsement (or non-celebrity endorsement) never works for me as a selling point. Tell me why your product is going to help me do something better than the other guy, or shut up. Take your non-comedic comedian with you.
