Two early 2009 book surprises

First, when did Scot Lynch's The Republic of Thieves get bumped to next year? I've had it on my wishlist for a while, and I know it was scheduled for this month when I added it.

And second, how did I miss the news of a new John Barnes novel being released next year? And a YA, possible non-genre (at least, non-sf/fantasy) book at that?

Oh, man. I just finished The Lies of Locke Lamora and Red Seas Under Red Skies, and now I have to wait till February till the next book? Sad.

About six months ago, I believe. I'm surprised it's scheduled for as early as February; I had it in my head as a mid-09 book.
