yendiTwo links that have turned out to be surprisingly useful in researching aspects of the novel I'm working on:
1. Cigarettespedia. Images of just about every brand ever (at least, all the ones I've needed to find).
2. Images of historical US coins and images of current coins.
One thing I discovered that isn't useful for anything:
There's a Twitter account whose sole purpose is to search Tweets for the word "pony," then respond with a reply message containing the phrase "Wheee!!! Pony!!!"
