Elayna and I watched a few more episodes of Season 2 last night. And two things struck me as odd, both related to "Passion" (although technically one of the flaws happens on "I Only Have Eyes For You").

First, how did Angel get into Giles's place to place Jenny's body there? Buffy and Willow had invited him into their places, but I don't recall Giles ever doing so.

Second, Angel destroys Jenny's computer (thus removing evidence of the spell), but two episodes later, Willow comments that part of what makes teaching the course so easy is that she's following Jenny's lesson plans that were on the computer. What am I missing here?

I have no answer for the first one, but as to the second, I always assumed (read: fanwanked) that Jenny backed up her lesson plans externally or something. *shrug*

I think (for the first question) it was always assumed that Angel had gone to everyone's place between episodes. Remember Cordelia freaking out about having to get her car uninvited for him, after he went evil?

As to the second, yeah, as [profile] nevacaruso she tended to back everything up. I can't remember the episode order for the season right now, so I don't know how close to Becoming Part 1 you are.

ETA: As a coincidence, my icon shows her disk back-up.

Yeah, I assumed there were off-screen invitations all over the place, too.

As to the computer, I assumed ... I don't know what I assumed. As of right now, I officially assume there were backups and/or crafty computer forensics and/or Wheedonitis in play.

Showing my fandom age, I remember this coming up on the Buffylist listserv after the episode aired:
<< How did Angel get into Giles's apartment? I mean, had he ever been there before (Giles letting him in) >>

Someone asked that before. What I think is this, remember in Invisible Girl, the scene with Giles and Angel, talking about the book of lore about the slayer (The one that said she would die?). After that point, when Giles needed help, he automatically called Angel, himself, without evidence of getting the number from Buffy. (First scene in Part one of "Prophecy Girl") That just led me to believe that Angel & Giles had a working relationship off-screen, as they both wanted to help Buffy.

I didn't even blink when it was obvious that Angel was in Giles' Apartment, assuming he'd been there before. I could be wrong.

Giving Joss the benefit of the doubt, I assumed that Angel was invited into Giles' place at some point in the first season and a half, given how much work they did together and they trusted him. I also assumed that Jenny's lesson plans were on the school mainframe. Doubtful that she would have saved her "extracurricular" work on the mainframe, which explains why it was being backed up on disk. :) After all, would Snyder have appreciated a "technopagan" on the payroll? :)

I had problems with the first one upon rewatching with 'Kitty, and yeah, I think the only way to handle it is to assume that Angel went to Giles' place at some point we don't know about. Or that Joss just forgot.

The second one, I always assumed she had a backup.
