Thanks to the recommendation of tikimama and melintur, we rented Zoolander last night. Damned funny movie, and maybe the best DVD menus I've seen. And tonight there's a new episode of Angel, plus the zillion things we have on Tivo. No new Buffy tomorrow, alas, but that means we can still watch Andy Richter Controls the Universe.

I hate working in an organization with asshole pigfuckers!

Same shite as before -- the idiots in Tech Services still don't know why the server is crashing. And those of us who are front-end admins (we handle the software itself) are taking the heat. And being told bullshit things, like "there are a thousand simultaneous logins," which is an outright lie (it was at 596 when it crashed, and it's never had a problem when it's been as high as 900). Basically, they don't know what's going on, but rather than blame Microsoft or Compaq, they're blaming Centrinity. Ignorant monkey-wipes. I so need to find an analyst position over in Faculty Services again, away from this shit.

I walked into the bathroom (aside -- my cube is on the main floor of the University library) just now, and, as is my wont, I was reading a printout while using the urinal (the printout was a complete bibliography of Peter David, but it looked like any school-type printout). The guy using the urinal next to me commented that I was "really dedicated." When I expressed surprise, he mentioned that even though it was near the end of the term, he'd never spend precious bathroom time reading. Yep, he thought I was an undergrad.

And no, this was not one of the bathrooms where guys try to pick other guys up. He was just one of those overly friendly types who talk too much. :-)

As I was about to tell Jenny, before she logged off of AIM, here's what sucks about the Eyre Affair: The sequel comes out in England in two months. It comes out in the US next year. Amazon.co.uk, here I come.
