Between the new bra and the stretchy shirt she's wearing to work, I swear I think [livejournal.com profile] shadesong is going to fall over.

If more secretaries had looked like this when I was in college, I'd never have gone to class -- I'd always have been trying to find an excuse to go to the departmental offices.

How bad is the action figure market?

We were planning on selling a bunch of duplicate figures and things we just didn't care about.

So I took pics, and then went to Ebay to get an idea of the market.

Every single figure we have (all of which are mint on card) has sold on eBay for under $10 in the last week or two.

The Padme figure from Episode One was selling for under $2.

Even the Sandman and Death figures aren't fetching shit.

Sigh.

So, no action figures going up on eBay now.

Today's Friday Five

1. Where are you right now?

At home, awaiting the arrival of the Salvation Army to pick up much stuff.

2. What have you lost recently?

Even more sanity points, but more importantly, Stephen Dedman's The Art of Arrow Cutting, which I was going to place in [livejournal.com profile] shadesong's to-read pile.

3. What was the first CD you ever purchased? Does that embarrass you now?

Billy Ocean, "Love Zone." Um, hell yeah. I don't have any shame over my Night Ranger collection (every CD prior through Live in Japan), or Loverboy, or Cheap Trick. But Billy Ocean is someone I no longer listen to.

4. What is your favorite kind of writing pen?

Um, they make different kinds? :-) Seriously, as long as they write, that's cool. If they've got one of those ladies on the side whos e clothes magically come off when you turn the pen upside down, I guess that's a bonus.

5. What is your favorite ice cream flavor?

Hard to decide. Bruster's is the brand, of course. I had Black Raspberry yesterday that was worth killing over. And Dusty Road is amazing, ditto Cotton Candy Explosion. But I'm a traditionalist -- Coffee Oreo is still my favorite.

I had a sudden craving to listen to Jonatha Brooke's 10 cent Wings. Hadn't heard her in years, and I discovered that I hadn't ripped her stuff to MP3. I just took care of that with all three CDs of hers that I own. Wow. I'd forgetten just how much I love her stuff.

Crap. Just found out that Jonatha had two songs on the Return to Neverland soundtrack. Now I may have to watch that movie.

How pathetically '80s am I? I walked out into the living room, where the tv was on VH1Classic on mute. I took one glance at the screen, and said, "cool, Romeo Void!"

Yes, I can recognize one-hit-wonders on sight.

According to http://www.jkeith.net/phpBB/viewtopic.php?topic=191&forum=8&16 -- the morons at Comedy Central replaced J Keith Van Stratten as host of Beat the Geeks! What the krunk is wrong with those people? Do they work for Fox?

And since it's not mentioned, I'm afraid that the eminently untalented (not counting silicon implants as talent) Tiffany is still on the show.
