Yeah, I'm still awake at 1:45.

After [livejournal.com profile] jet_li_wannabe and [livejournal.com profile] mousegrrl left, we watched some tv and headed to bed. Woke up and watched more Tivo, and it started pouring. So we got to sleep, and then we were shocked out of bed by a huge vibrating sound. It vanished, then happened again for a few seconds. I thought it was something from near the tv. [livejournal.com profile] shadesong thought it might be her vibrators (naturally enough). None of them seemed to be the culprit. I read for a bit, and the sound came a few more times. From what we could tell, the drain pipe outside was straining a bit, and it was rubbing against the house, and making the horrid sound.

It eventually went away, but once I'm woken up, I don't get back to sleep easily. So one issue of Entertainment Weekly later, I'm still awake and surfing. Fortunately, I've got nothing important going on at work tomorrow.

Athenos has stopped packing the little plastic mini-knife with the Travellers hummus and pita packs. Granted, at 2 in the morning, hummus (and anything else) is finger food, anyway, but it's still annoying.

Got to bed at 2:30. the cure for insomnia? Finally reading The Dark Knight Returns #3. Worst comic I've ever read. Ever. By a longshot (and yes, that includes all comics featuring Longshot, not exactly a good groups of books itself). Had to read it twice to make sure it wasn't supposed to be a parody of otherwise bad comics. If it was, it sucked on that level, too. Just plain awful. Ungodly so. When I said Frank Miller had lost it, I was talking about the mediocre DKR#2. #3 goes beyond losing it. It takes suckitude to a whole new level.

So, for anyone with sleeping problems, it comes highly recommended. Unlike sleeping pills, there's no way this is addictive.

No, not the poltergeists. The EOL CDs! The project that haunted me for months! The CDs have arrived exactly on time from the factory, and they look perfect! Just spent the last hour unloading them and setting aside the cds for each school. Now have to make a bunch of phone calls and emails. But EmoryOnline is a go!

Now, let's keep our fingers crossed for no major bugs being discovered.

Well, everyone else is doing it, so why not me? Here's a poll. Probably the same one you've seen a few times already today. Questions are private, but my answers will be public (although they may not mean much to folks who don't know the question already).

[Poll #53990]
yendi: (Default)
[livejournal.com profile] gothwalk: When the time is right.

[livejournal.com profile] shadesong : For a happy ending.

[livejournal.com profile] edie22: Seeing all my friends, which will be a lot more fun than the con itself.

[livejournal.com profile] bethynyc : Yes (though I only saw one question -- maybe if you answer more than once, it erases the old question).

[livejournal.com profile] melintur: Never a dramatic one. I've certainly evolved some over time, though.

[livejournal.com profile] morenasangre See [livejournal.com profile] gothwalk, above. :-)

[livejournal.com profile] glenn5: Reading.
yendi: (Default)
[livejournal.com profile] rance: Respectively: Yes, that my fingers could do a lot more than I ever expected, and sweet potato.

[livejournal.com profile] mousegrrl: Yes, but not until after [livejournal.com profile] shadesong does.

[livejournal.com profile] tarpo: Me: My mind. Shadesong: Her mind. :-)

[livejournal.com profile] rollick -- On the internet. :-) I'll expand that into a full post sometime (just like those other things I keep promising to expand into full posts).

[livejournal.com profile] rloveking: That's not a question. :-)

[livejournal.com profile] britgeekgrrl: Yes, if you mean as cartoon or video game characters. I doubt I'd like 'em as pets. And I've never tried them in the culinary sense.
yendi: (Default)
[livejournal.com profile] rloveking I'm unaffiliated. If I ever had an affilation again, it would be UU.

[livejournal.com profile] wolfieboy In downtown Cleveland.

[livejournal.com profile] ariedana I can always tell when Dubya is lying.

[livejournal.com profile] jet_li_wannabe I'll be five years older, and not an ounce wiser.

Three more

Sneaking in a very brief update before meeting about a project:

[livejournal.com profile] crimmycat: On balance, yes.

[livejournal.com profile] wolvy I'm not a huge fan. They can be fun, though.

[livejournal.com profile] dreamcowgirl : Of course you can!
yendi: (Default)
[livejournal.com profile] wickedandlost: Other than the brilliant "Soldier of Love," no.

[livejournal.com profile] kellinator I hope so, and it's really not so bad. Although it varies from department to department.

[livejournal.com profile] adellyna: I seriously doubt it. :-)

[livejournal.com profile] bouncepogo: Nope.

So, the theme of the Dragoncon Consuite is going to be Tarot and Spam:

Umm. Okay.

A few notes before bed:

First, the latest Entertainment Weekly has a 15% off coupon for Borders. :-)

Second, when we got home today, there was a package from the Sci-Fi Book Club containing, amongst other things, Michael Shermer's The Borderlands of Science! I love Michael Shermer!

Third, we now have Red, Elayna's class Guinea pig, staying with us for the weekend. Combined with the latest litter of gerbils, that puts the number of pets in the house at well over twenty. And I think Max the cat is scared of all of them.

Fourth, I can't remember if we ever mentioned how awesome [livejournal.com profile] morenasangre is. We got home last week to find a box from her containing Edward Gorey's Dracula Toy Theatre. She so rocks!

Finally, if one of Spider-Man's major foes had been a boating type, would he have been Kraven the Punter?

Anyway, like [livejournal.com profile] shadesong, I'm exhausted (I got less sleep than she did, even), so I'm off to bed.

Missions for tomorrow: Get some writing done while Shadesong and Elayna are at Karate, help 'song and [livejournal.com profile] mousegrrl when they visit the Girl Scout store, and find my Mushroom Forest MST3K piece for eventually marking up and posting on LJ.
