Friggin LJ client didn't post this. I'm going to try to recreate it before heading to bed, but seeing as I'm exhausted, this will be the short version.
First, I'm fine, at least as far as the accident goes. Although the docs warned me (as did many of you) that I should keep an eye out for any symptoms over the next few weeks, as some injuries don't show right away.
Spent most of the day at
voltbang's, where he taught me the joy of Blood Bowl. I'm now addicted. It's a damned fun game, combining the best aspects of football and fantasy warfare. I need to game more, and play more games that actually require me to think (in spite of the name, Blood Bowl is a hell of a strategy game).
I also got to meet
voltbang and
rloveking's pets: Thursday, the adorable pug, and Whiplash, the only cat who's more of an attention slut than our own Max.
When I got home, I got to see the LJ Drama that was today. I really hate drama. It felt really nice to be away from the computer for half a day.
And yes, there are some posts I need to make, and replies that need to be sent. But I'm giving myself a few more hours of freedom from stress. I'll post tomorrow morning, post-coffee.
Talked to my boss, and the Chicago trip's a go. Looks like I'll be there from Sunday the 3rd of November to Friday the 8th. I'll post more details as I get them.
Elayna actually requested more of The Phantom Tollbooth tonight! Hooray! I'd forgotten how wonderful the book is. We just finished chapter 4. I'm hoping she'll read it some at school, too.
The bad news is, as I was reading, I started to develop a sore throat. No idea why, but I've had three cups of cinnamon tea. Don't know if it actually helps, but it tastes yummy. :-)
Birds of Prey was much better this week, largely because they've stopped with the stupid panther sounds whenever Huntress does anything. They've kept the Xena-esque stuff between the various female characters, though, which is nice.
And I've rediscovered the joys of Diablo 2, now that I found the patch for OSX.
On that note, bedtime.
