(no subject)

So, at about 7:10 this morning, the phone rings. No one calls this early. No one. So I go over to the phone, and the caller ID says it's from Elayna's school.

There's no better way to have a heart attack in the morning than this.

I pick it up, and am relieved to hear Elayna's voice.

"Adam, I forgot that we were supposed to bring our favorite stuffed animal into school today."

I hadn't realized I'd been holding my breath until I let it out then.

I explained to Elayna that it was too late, as there was no way that shadesong and I could make it there before work. She seemed okay with that (and she knows that if she doesn't tell us about an assignment). And I'm just relieved it wasn't anything serious.

Anyway, the new central computer lab is opening today, and we have to be there for the grand opening, so I'll be offline for a few hours (but getting lots of free coffee).
