So, I actually considered taking my one quarterly quiz, after seeing a few folks post links to the "how much of a literary geek are you?" quiz.

Then I saw the first question:

Who wrote the sequal to Little Women?

Sorry, but anyone who writes that question has no right to judge my literary geekiness.

Oh, another question from the quiz: Approxamately how many books (excluding novellas and young adult books) do you finish in a week?

And we later get the word "losely."

I wonder if the quizmaker copyedits for Laurell K. Hamilton.

A few of you are aware of this, but this is my first public announcement:

I've decided to start a separate blog just for my commentary on horror (all fields). It's theoretically a more "professional" blog, combining news and commentary. It won't reduce my posting here (for better or for worse). Basically, it's a project designed to give me a place to get my thoughts on horror out of my system as they occur.

Currently, other than buying a domain name I've made no financial investment in the site (because I've got nothing to invest, natch). If I manage to attract enough interest to get some Paypal or Amazon tips, I'll funnel that money into moving off of Blogspot to a real host, and then I'll look at options like Movable Type. But for now, it remains a Blogger-based site, which is working fine so far.

Anyway, the site is called The Horror Zone. There's a decided lack of red fonts dripping blood on a black background. My apologies to anyone who feels that horror sites must also be illegible. :-)

For those who'd rather not head off of LJ, there is, of course, a syndicated feed at [livejournal.com profile] horrorzone (created thanks to [livejournal.com profile] shadesong's extra syndication points).

Feedback (offline or online), of course, is appreciated.

Asimov's tells that half-assed tv station what to do with their "reporting."

Since I don't have a local filter, this is remaining open (and non-GA people, feel free to pass this on to other local folks):

[livejournal.com profile] thermidor posted about the People of Faith rally to oppose SR 595 (the amendment to the GA Constitution to redefine marriage). Even if you're not religious, as long as you're opposed to the continuing attempt by the government to redefine "marriage," there are good contact numbers in the post to actually express your point of view.

I never mentioned the gift [livejournal.com profile] shadesong got me for Valentine's Day -- the Great Big Sea DVD This DVD kicks ass and takes names -- a great concert, tons of videos, karaoke versions of the songs (including "Mari-Mac"), and documentaries. By one of the best bands out there.

And last night, [livejournal.com profile] jet_li_wannabe gave me the final part of my Xmas present: Chez Grunt (the latest in the Steve Jackson line of card games). Just as much slack as in the other games, but fewer cats. They've added illicit activities, though, which is fun.
