Georgia actually passed a law I approve of -- HB 645, allowing us to drink real fucking beer (basically, GA has had one of the toughest restrictions on alcohol content in beer in the US for the last century, because they want to protect the precious moonshiners vote or somesuch, because holding down the alcohol content of the beer sure as fuck doesn't have any other effect on alcohol consumption in GA). Finally, the good stuff from Belgium can be sold here!

In a weird way, it almost takes balls to say the sort of shit this asshole utters. "I'm a survivor." Please. I'm sure that made all the troops you were speaking to -- who actually grasp the meaning of the word "survive" -- really proud.
If you're a member of Dick'n'Bush's circle and the fucking New York Post calls for your dismissal, that's as sure a sign as any that you've lost it.

House moving stuff accomplished today
May. 14th, 2004 02:18 pmMagazine subs forwarded.
Change of Address filed.
Gas, electric, phone all forwarded.
That last created a hitch. When I went online with Bellsouth to have our phone forwarded, they said that they don't offer DSL for that neighborhood. Fuck. So, I'm holding off on having Dish forwarded until Monday, when I can talk to our office manager and my boss to find out options, because if we have to go with cable for high-speed access, I need to see what the potential pitfalls are, billing-wise. Work currently pays for my access, and I damned well want that to continue.
The good news -- because I used Bellsouth's online forwarding, they're sending us a $30 Target gift card. Woohoo!

Night on the Town
May. 14th, 2004 11:48 pmOne of the problems with having neither a long commute, nor a good radio in the house, is that I'm woefully out of the NPR loop. Tonight, thanks to
glenn5, I'm aware of A Night on the Town, an NRP show that plays nothing but broadway tunes for an hour each week. I must make a point of listening to this show.
