I'm at home because Dekalb (unlike every other Metro county) has prematurely closed schools for today and tomorrow. This is largely because our crack-smoking school board and the criminally incompetent Superintendent are, well, morons.
The University, of course, is open, so I'm working from home, since I have no meetings today.
The worst thing about working from home isn't balancing work and Elayna, which is actually pretty easy most of the time, as she's pretty undemanding, and if she gets frustrated that I'm working, at least understands that it has to happen.
It isn't even the slower connection, or the loss of access to some resources that are restricted to campus IP addresses. I can still get more done from here than from the Cube Farm, realistically.
It's not the temptation to do things non-work related, like balance the checkbook - as mentioned above, I'm probably more efficient anyway from here.
It's not the cat getting in my face, or the fact that I can't just take a walk around the Quad or the stacks to clear my thoughts (although that's a major frustration).
It's that I have unlimited coffee at home, and am now on cup #GodOnlyKnows.
