Books in the mail
Apr. 28th, 2006 10:08 am1. Received a copy of His Majesty's Dragon, the debut novel from Naomi Novik. It came from Del Rey with no cover letter or note of any sort, so I'm assuming I won it from one of their newsletters. I've heard good things about this one, and I'm intrigued by the concept (dragons being used in combat during the Napoleanic wars).
2. And yesterday, I got an email from the good folks at First Look Books, letting me know that a copy of Ruby, the new novel by Francesca Lia Block and Carmen Staton, is en route. Of course, anyone who was reading me last year will remember that the last time that First Look Books promised me a free FLB novel, things did not exactly go as planned. Still, I'm psyched. :-)
