Creepiest pillow ever.
Jul. 10th, 2006 07:46 amOver the weekend, I linked to the severed-horsehead pillow.
That's not a tenth as disturbing as the Girlfriend Pillow (link ganked from

Amazon's got a handful of $14.95 DVD sets, ranging from 63-75% off:
American Dad, Season 1
Simpsons, Season 1
Futurama, Season 1
Dark Angel, Season 2
Note that of those four, only American Dad and The Simpsons show as being currently in stock, but Futurama is definitely still in print, so you should be able to get a shipment on that one (not as certain about Dark Angel).

On movies, movie theaters, and economics
Jul. 10th, 2006 08:27 amTwo must-read essays for a look at how movie-theaters make money:
Why Movie Theaters Don't Care About You
and its sequel:
Why Movie Theater Prices are So High (and keep rising)

Amazon groceries
Jul. 10th, 2006 01:59 pmLast month, I noted the Amazon grocery store, along with some price weirdness. Although the latter is still in place, they now have a nice coupon up: use "GROCERY2" at checkout to save $10 on $49. Since the groceries are eligible for Amazon's super-saver shipping (free at $25) or Prime, it's not too shabby.
The only hitch is that pet food (other than treats) and litter are not considered "groceries," and are sold through Amazon's partnership with PetFoodDirect, so it's going to eat up shipping charges. But any home pantry items are a part of the deal.
