Jan. 18th, 2008 10:37 amArisia in a few hours. Woohoo!
1. Toscanini's is no more. Mind you, Rancatore's was (and remains) our local ice cream shop (since it's technically walking distance on warmer days), but the loss of any local ice cream parlor diminishes us all.
2. Neko Case on Aqua Teen Hunger Force (also, new season of ATHF, which I hadn't expected)!
3. New David Milch show on HBO, this time focusing on cops.
4. The directors guild averted a strike when they collectively rolled over, waggled their bums at the AMPTP, and said, "take me, any way you want to." Metaphorically, of course, but given the quality of the "deal," there might be a clause in which they have to do it literally, as well.
5. Mark Valley will be on the new JJ Abrams "it's not the X-Files, even though it's about two FBI agents investigating strange phenomena" show. Have I mentioned that I still miss Keen Eddie?
6. Rilo Kiley performing "Moneymaker" live. I adore the latest album.
7. A hack reporter for the New York Times named Alex Berenson wrote a poorly-researched article on Fibromyalgia (or, Berenson might havev invented time travel and done his research in the late '80s). Not surprisingly, the letters have called him and the Times on it.
8. Have you met John Scalvi?
9. Why didn't anyone tell me I could play curling on my Wii?
10. Cereal Treat Wars!
11. Today's Yendiopolis update: We need parks and people.
