The 2008 Locus Poll and Survey is up. A lot of really, really tough choices there (as well as one short story on the list that, hands down, has to be the worst one I've read in the last ten years). A lot of really good stuff got excluded, as well, but that's why there's a space for write-ins.

I've actually read enough of the nominated novels this year that I was forced to make some tough choices. Last year was a good one, book-wise.

Bwahaha!

All the Nebula winners through 2004, in haiku.

The Flowers for Algernon one is the my favorite, but Neuromancer comes close.

(And yes, they skipped Speed of Dark)

Good ones, for signing up to their newsletter (which I'm assuming is different from the Tor-Forge newsletter to which I already subscribe, seeing as I got no error message on signing up for this one)! Authors mentioned so far include Brandon Sanderson and John Scalzi. I've given away my email address in the past for a hell of a lot less.

So, I finally looked at the list of nominees for the pointless Grammy Awards, and Feist is nominated for Best New Artist?

Exactly what do they consider "new?"

Man, I sure hope Kanye West wins Best New Artist next year. He's due.
