The writers behind Iron Man are rebooting the Highlander franchise.
Not sure how I feel about this. The Highlander franchise produced one campy classic film and three solid seasons of TV, balanced by four "holy fuck, how did something this dreadful get made" movies, an awful Amanda series, and an unwatchable cartoon. A reboot is certainly better than revisiting the current universe, I guess.
I don't have the first movie on the same pedestal that others do, but the two things that made it truly entertaining were the Queen soundtrack (really, would Heather's aging evoke half the emotion it does without "Who Wants to Live Forever?") and Clancy Brown's performance. I don't expect a remake to be able to duplicate either of these.
