We watched this week's SNL shortly after getting back last night, and it was damned fine from top to bottom. Malkovich was funny, Amy Poehler's return was delightful, and Kristin Wiig was amazing as always. Bill Hader had his best Vinny Vedecci skit yet, and even T.I. proved that he's a much better live performer (with a surprisingly good rendition of "Whatever You Like") than a recording artist. Also, I think the Judy Blume sketch was the first time that the two new women worked with Kristen and Casey in the same sketch.

But I suspect that this week's digital short will be what folks end up talking about. Jorma Taccone and Andy Samberg are perfect (although I have to wonder if they'd originally wanted it to be Andy and Justin Timberlake -- who cameos as a janitor in the video), and adding Molly Sims and Jamie-Lynn Sigler was a nice bonus. Note: this video is not work-safe. At all.

Frankly, it feels like a Monday. First day back from vacation sucks.

Most of the recent Amazon Deals have focused on Deals of the Day (although the 50% off on The Complete Sopranos is still active)., but last week's mid-week post still has a ton of active TV and movie DVD deals.

The Video Game Deal of the Day is Deca Sports for the Wii for $19.99 (33% off).

The 15 Days, 15 Video Games Deal today offers a bunch of PS3 games at a huge discount (all at least 45% off). including Eternal Sonata, Heavenly Sword, Golden Axe: Beast Rider (a whopping 78% off!), Ridge Racer 7, and Warhawk. They've also got the Sony Component AV/USB cables at 75% off.

The TV Holi-Daily Deal is Heroes Seasons 1 and 2, for $46.99 (53% off) on DVD, and $77.99 (54% off) on Blu-Ray.

The 5PM (Eastern)/2PM (Pacific) Gold Box Deal will be on the 8-movie Disney/Pixar Ultimate Collection. Since the set's already marked down 54% (to $109.99), I can only imagine how cheap it can get during the special.

In board games, Settlers of Catan has dropped to $27.99 (33% off).

Finally, newly-discounted DVDs include Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang, Dumb and Dumber, The Fugitive, Mortal Kombat, assorted two-packs (Stallone, Chevy Chase, Barry Levinson, Jackie Chan), all at 50% off or more.

Yes, I'm on twitter (using the same ID as here). But if you add me, remember that unless sI recognize the username or you link to your LJ, I'll likely have no idea who you are. So say something.

That goes double if you've got a private Twitter feed (the way Twitter works, adding someone doesn't give them access to your posts until they explicitly ask you for permission, and I'm not going to ask if I don't know who you are).

"In a society where the ability to see the higher end of the color spectrum denotes a better social standing, Eddie Russet belongs to the low-level House of Red and can see his own color—but no other."

Granted, if it's a Jasper Fforde novel, I'll read it no matter what, but Shades of Grey definitely has me hooked from the initial description.

Now if only I didn't have to wait until next July. *grumble*

I posted the teaser trailer for Død Snø a while ago, but here's the full red-band trailer. Note that it's still not subtitled, but you can get the basic gist of it: Zombies. Snow. Nazis. Chainsaws.
