Ausiello has interviews and background behind what happened last night.

(Don't click if you don't want to be spoiled, of course.)

ABC will burn off the remaining three episodes of the best show they aired this seasons starting on May 30. In the 10PM Saturday night timeslot. I can only assume that we'll also see ABC President Stephen McPherson appear every few minutes to flip us the bird (or at least 1/3 screen banners promoting The Bachelor).

Johan Santana has personalized, complex handshakes/greetings for each of his teammates. Personally, I think that every player in MLB should be required to do something like this.

There's a Buy One, Get One Free sale on 52 TV DVDs, with most sets starting at 20% off. That makes for some nice bundles; two seasons of Angel, Roswell, Dead Like Me, or The Pretender for $31.99 ($16 each), and decent deals on other shows -- My Name is Earl, The Young Riders, That '70s Show, American Dad, Wonderfalls, etc.

The DVD Super Sale is one of those all-purpose DVD sales, with 143 different DVDs. Notable items going for at least 40% off include the James Bond Ultimate Collector's Set, The Dreamers, Darjeeling Limited, the Alien Quadrilogy, Fantastic Four, Die Hard, and the Rogers and Hammerstein Collection.

Finally, there's a sale on the assorted Mill Creek Box Sets. These are those cheap 20-50 movie sets with cheap transfers. The quality is often less-than-optimal, but at 50% off, the price often comes out to under $.50 a movie, which can make many of these worthwhile. For some reason, Mill Creek also has a few TV series in their lineup, including the old Howard/Crawford Sherlock Holmes series (only $6 for 39 episodes), and the old USA show Beyond Reality.

Goodbye, 36

So this is the last day I'll be able to (truthfully) say I'm 36. It's been five years since my age has been a prime number, and I'm looking forward to, for no good reason other than the fact that I like primes.

In some parts of the world it's already April 8, so in whatever alternate universe has me living in New Zealand, I'm already starting the trip to 38. Except for the one where I die an early death thanks to a rampage by Kid Miracleman. That one sucks.

Anyway, I'm not big into birthday celebrations, but I also don't have any problem with noting that I'm aging, either. Feels kind of nice, actually.

We'll see how sanguine I am about things in three years.

American Asshole appears to have run about nine minutes over, meaning that Fringe, of course, got cut off with as many minutes to go (our Tivo switched to ABC to record Cupid at 10, of course). Fortunately, I found the episode already uploaded, but this is a great fucking way to treat a show that's been on the second huge hiatus of its run this season.
