McDuffie fired from JLA

Dwayne McDuffie -- whose run on JLA has been the first long-term, consistently readable one since Grant Morrison left -- has been fired.

It was due to the comments reprinted here, even though those comments were made over the course of two years and originally on the DC message boards.

Sigh.

What's amazing, of course, is that the run was so good in spite of the obstacles placed in his path. Of course, he's already shown (on his JLU run) that he does the DCU as well as anyone. It would be great to see what he could do with a some actual freedom when writing these characters.

On the plus side, he mentions some interesting projects that he's involved with.

Total Eclipse of the Heart: The literal version

The latest Literal Version of a Video is of the classic team-up of Jim Steinman and Russell Mulcahy, who together could reach every excess imaginable. Naturally, the literal version is almost as funny as the original, but intentionally so.

TV Reminder

Tonight is the when ABC starts to finish disposing of Pushing Daisies, buried in the 10PM timeslot on the least-watched night on TV. Remember to set your Tivo.

After the three eps air over the next three week, they'll dump Eli Stone and Dirty Sexy Money in that time slot.
