The Video Game Deal of the Day is on Family Games, with 20-40% off a bunch of items ranging from Sesame Street: Once Upon a Monster to Kinect Disneyland Adventures to Hasbro Family Game Night to The Sims to a bunch of accessories. There are games for every system here. The Download Deal is also on Family Games, and once again comes with $5 download credits in January (nice, since some of the downloads like Family Feud are only $1.99 right now).

The actual Deal of the Day is on a Scotch Thermal Laminator for $16.99 (79% off, and about $17 less than other retailers).

In kitchen stuff, the Cuisinart WMR-CA Round Classic Waffle Maker is $29.95 (60% off), the Cuisinart 77-10 Chef's Classic Stainless-Steel 10-Piece Cookware Set is $99.99 (and comes with a mail-in offer for a free 2-Piece Slicing/Paring prep set), and the KitchenAid Professional 600 Series 6-Quart Stand Mixer is down to $299.99 (40% off).

In games, the Super Mario Galaxy jigsaw puzzle is $6.99 (53% off), the Ravensburger Empire State Building 216 Piece 3D Building Set is $11.99 (54% off), and the LEGO Banana Balance and LEGO Robo Champ games are $7.99 (27% off) each.

In magazines, you can subscribe to a year of National Geographic or Entertainment Weekly for $15 each, Reader's Digest for $5, FamilyFun for $12, and Vegetarian Times for $7.

Se7en on Blu-Ray is $10.99 (69% off). And when it arrives, you can shout, "what's in the box?"

The two-pack of The American President and Dave on DVD costs $4.99 (67% off). That's cheaper than either movie by itself.

Finally, there's a bunch of sub-$5 DVDs, clearly aimed at the stocking stuffer crowd. Most are at least 50% off, although a few have lower discounts (from $6.99 or $7.99 price points): The Outlaw Josey Wales, The Departed, Little Shop of Horrors, Tim Burton's Corpse Bride, Pee-Wee's Big Adventure, Batman Begins, Chicken Run, Pirates of Silicon Valley, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Sex and the City: The Movie, The Librarian - Return to King Solomon's Mines, Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves, Antz, Going the Distance, Pan's Labyrinth, Midnight in Garden of Good & Evil, Heat, The Losers, B.A.P.S., I Am Legend, National Lampoon's Vacation, Ocean's Eleven, Batman: Under the Red Hood, Orphan, Cop Out, Tenacious D in The Pick of Destiny, Set It Off, Superman/Batman: Public Enemies, Wonder Woman (the Waitress reunion version, with Keri Russell as Diana and Nathan Fillion as Steve Trevor), Menace II Society, Dog Soldiers, Sesame Street: Abby in Wonderland, and The Adventures of Elmo in Grouchland.

I just left this comment in a friend's post on FB, but it pretty much sums up my thoughts on the subject:

I don't say "happy holidays" because I'm engaging in the nonexistent War on Christmas. I say it because it gets the paranoid folks with their privileged inability to recognize real bias and prejudice all excited and angry.

(I also say it because it's generally proper and inclusive; unless I know what holiday someone celebrates, why get specific. But reason doesn't work on the people who perceive the war, anyway.)
